Lawn Sprinklers

Gilmour Hybrid Impact Sprinkler with Base: Product Review

We were hopeful that this sprinkler would work well, if for no other reason than the fact that it's the easiest impact sprinkler to adjust out of all the ones we've tested. Gilmour's done a nice job making something that's normally quite confusing into something a simple and intuitive to use. Unfortunately, it just doesn't work very well. It frequently gets stuck, floods the area around it with water, and occasionally blows its top (literally). Continue Reading

Dramm ColorStorm 4-Pattern Gear Drive Sprinkler: Product Review

The Dramm ColorStorm 4-Pattern Gear Drive Sprinkler not only comes in six different colors but has four different patterns that you can alternate between, ensuring that your lawn receives all the water it needs to stay green. You can also control how far the sprinkler rotates, from a narrow pie shape to a full 360. The sled-like base makes it easier to move across the lawn, and the sprinkler is easy and intuitive to use. Continue Reading

Melnor XT Turbo Oscillating Sprinkler with Flow Control: Product Review

Melnor has included some nice features on the XT Turbo Oscillating Sprinkler. The adjustment controls, though not intuitive, give you a lot of control over where the water goes, and the hose connector is easy to grip and turn. It works well at both higher and lower water pressure (although coverage is less at lower pressure, it still oscillates). Overall, it's a very good sprinkler with lots of features and is a good choice for Continue Reading

Dramm ColorStorm Spinning Sprinkler: Product Review

The Dramm ColorStorm Spinning Sprinkler is great at what it's created for - to be used in low water pressure situations. At low pressure, the sprinkler emits water in a fine mist; the higher your water pressure, the more the mist turns to droplets. The heavy metal base keeps the sprinkler in place, and the spinning top evenly distributes the water in a circular pattern (up to 38' in diameter, depending on water pressure). Continue Reading

Dramm ColorStorm 9-Pattern Turret Sprinkler: Product Review

The Dramm ColorStorm 9-Pattern Turret Sprinkler is a great sprinkler for multiple uses. It has a sturdy base and an easy-to-use plastic turret to switch between nine patterns. It's sturdy and should last for several seasons. It would work best in smaller areas rather than wide, expansive lawns (unless you're willing to move the sprinkler several times to cover the area). This sprinkler works well in low water pressure situations, so if you have well Continue Reading

Dramm ColorStorm Oscillating Sprinkler: Product Review

The Dramm ColorStorm Oscillating Sprinkler is a high-quality basic oscillating sprinkler that's built to last. With metal parts, a flow control knob, nozzle needle (to clog the brass nozzles) and an easy-to-use connector, this is our favorite basic oscillating sprinkler. Perfect for rectangular lawns. The powder-coated metal comes in six fun color options, like all of the Dramm ColorStorm products. Continue Reading

Gilmour Heavy-Duty Rectangular Sprinkler with On/Off Switch: Product Review

The Gilmour rectangular sprinkler won our vote for the best "full-featured" oscillating sprinkler (so not a basic one). We were impressed with the on/off switch right on the sprinkler, as it made adjustments much easier to make without running to the spigot each time. We also liked the hose connector as it was easy to grip, even when wet. The sprinkler is sturdy and has a full complement of length and width adjustments, although some Continue Reading

Melnor XT MiniMax Turbo Oscillating Sprinkler: Product Review

We love all of the adjustments you can make on this sprinkler. From flow control to length and width adjustment, you can really customize the Melnor XT MiniMax Turbo Oscillating Sprinkler for your yard or garden. This is especially handy if you have a narrow strip of lawn to water, as the adjustments allow you to choose a narrow stream of water and fit the spray pattern to a very precise area. It doesn't have Continue Reading
