A.M. Leonard Professional Compound Action Bypass Lopper Review
Note: The C808 lopper has been replaced by the C850 with a 2-1/8″ cutting capacity. The review below applies to the C850, as well as the original C808. If you’re like me, you probably find yourself struggling now and then to cut through a particularly hard branch or a larger diameter piece of wood with your […]
Big Bag Bed: Product Review
So why not try something a little different? Like a fabric raised bed… The Big Bag Bed is basically a large bag with a flat bottom made out of geotextile (you’ll often see it used as landscape fabric). Created by High Caliper Growing, the makers of Smart Pots, it’s intended for use as a […]
Bionic ReliefGrip Gardening Gloves: Product Review
If you’re looking for one glove that can do almost everything, you can’t go wrong with the Bionic ReliefGrip gardening glove. It has some unique features that make it a good choice not only for the typical gardener, but also for those of us with arthritic fingers.
Bionic Tough Pro Gardening Gloves For Men: Product Review
This is one tough pair of gloves! They stood up well to everything we could throw at them, all while remaining supremely comfortable. The ergonomic design, supple goatskin leather, silicon fingertips and Lycra flex zones all make for a terrific pair of gardening gloves. Sorry ladies, these are made for men.
Centurion Link-Force Double-Gear Drive (Monster) Lopper: Product Review
I’m a big fan of this lopper and highly recommend it, although it’s probably not the best choice for those who are petite or have limited upper body strength. The guillotine-style, geared cutting head is by far the most interesting design I’ve seen in quite some time. It works exceptionally well on deadwood, blasting through 2-inch deadwood like a hot knife through butter. If you have a lot of deadwood pruning to do, this is the lopper for you! The hooked design allows it to hang from branches when cutting overhead, and it doesn’t move around when trying to make accurate cuts. Plus, it’s very reasonably priced for a quality tool with this kind of cutting capacity.
CobraHead® Long Handle Weeder and Cultivator: Product Review
The CobraHead Long Handle weeder is well-made, comfortable to use, and highly effective in pulling out a wide range of weeds.
Corona ComfortGEL+ Extendable Bypass Lopper: Product Review
The Corona ComfortGEL+ Bypass Lopper lived up to its reputation as a top-of-the-line lopper, capable of tackling the toughest pruning jobs. This is not a tool for everyone due to its weight and handle grip size. But for those who need an extremely durable lopper with extendable handles and awesome cutting power, this is a tool that I would highly recommend.
Corona ComfortGEL+ Extendable Hedge Shears (HS 4344): Product Review
The Corona ComfortGEL+ Extendable HS 4344 is a great tool for the money. Durable-looking, strong, and employing innovative technology, it does tough jobs well. It’s a little on the heavy side which may limit the time you spend shearing your hedges.
Earth Talon Shovel: Product Review
I have to be honest. When I first saw the Earth Talon shovel I thought the pointed end was nothing more than a gimmick. But after putting it to the test in the hard, rocky soil of the Catalina Foothills in Tucson, I’m a fan. Unique Design The Earth Talon shovel is specifically designed for […]
Earthquake® Versa Tiller Cultivator: Product Review
Don’t be fooled by the small package – this is a powerful tiller cultivator that can be operated safely and easily by most gardeners. It’s highly adjustable, with options to use 2 or 4 tines at widths of 11, 16 and 21 inches, and depths up to 11 inches. It’s reliable, starts easily and is highly maneuverable. Anyone who has a new yard or garden with soil that needs to be broken up can save hours of otherwise back-breaking work with the Versa Tiller Cultivator.

Made of 22-gauge galvanized steel and available in a range of colors and sizes, Fence Armor protects fence and mailbox posts from damage by string trimmers, mowers, and other garden tools. Fence Armor keeps posts looking nice longer and extends their life (because who wants to replace fence or mailbox posts!).
Florian Maxi Lopper: Product Review
If you’re looking for the crème de la crème of loppers, look no further than the Florian Maxi Lopper. It is extremely well crafted, strong, agile, and it can cut, and cut, and cut – all without requiring you to use a lot of force.
Florian Ratchet-Cut Anvil Pruner: Product Review
This is an excellent all-around pruning tool that cuts cleanly through up to ¾-inch branches. The smooth ratchet action and super-sharp cutting blade, as well as ultra light weight and strength, make this the only hand pruner you’ll ever need.
Foxgloves Original Gardening Gloves: Product Review
If you’re looking for an excellent pair of general purpose gardening gloves, you can’t go wrong with the Foxgloves Original gardening glove. The gloves are made with a snug yet supple form-fitting material that’s tough enough for most gardening tasks (but if you’re looking for heavy-duty work gloves, these aren’t them). Foxgloves Works Gardening Gloves: Product Review
I recommend Foxgloves Works gardening gloves for several reasons: they’re very well fitting for a woman’s hands (although they work for men too), easy to clean, long lasting, and provide the extra protection you need when lifting rough objects and pulling thorny weeds. Rating: 5 out of 5.
Melnor AquaFlo Titanium (00452) Metal Thumb-Controlled Adjustable Nozzle: Product Review
Bristling with an impressive 10 watering patterns, a slip-resistant rubberized grip and head, heavyweight metal construction, and a thumb controlled flow-control and shut-off, the 00452 is a worthy contender in the highly competitive garden nozzle market.
