Greenworks G-Max 40v Lithium Cultivator (27062): Product Review

The Greenworks G-Max 40v cultivator has surprising power, very good quality construction and gives excellent results. It might be overkill for a very small garden where a garden fork would do the work. And it might be underpowered for a really big garden. But if you’re looking for a replacement for a gas-powered cultivator, this is definitely one to consider.

Redback Hedge Trimmer-featured

Redback (E522D) 40V Cordless Lithium-Ion Hedge Trimmer: Product Review

If you’re ready to cut the cord on your electric trimmer or want to upgrade your underpowered 20V rechargeable hedge trimmer, get the Redback E522D. It’s priced right between the least and most expensive trimmers in its category, and this sturdy tool feels built to last for many seasons. It easily cut through everything I threw at it, is easy to maneuver, has good battery life and doesn’t feel any heavier than a corded model.

YARDMAX™ Electric Log Splitter: Product Review

The YARDMAX™ Electric Log Splitter does only one thing – splits wood – and does it really well. I love it and couldn’t be more pleased with the results. It’s sturdy, works fast, is easy to use, and eliminates the usual stresses and strains of splitting wood.

Sun Joe electric pressure washer review

Sun Joe Electric Pressure Washer (SPX3000): Product Review

The Sun Joe Electric Pressure Washer is easy and comfortable to use, with a lightweight, easy-to-control trigger handle, an upright wheeled design that makes it easy to move, and onboard storage for all parts. It doesn’t have as much power as a gas model but for most jobs it provides more than enough pressure.

Greenworks G-MAX 40V Lithium-Ion Cordless 8” Pole Saw (20672): Product Review

The Greenworks G-MAX 40V Lithium-Ion Cordless 8” Pole Saw (model 20672) is a generally well made product that makes clean cuts through smaller material (under 4” in diameter) but has battery overheating problems when cutting larger branches. There’s no shoulder strap included in the saw package (a definite miss) and the owner’s manual really needs some revisions. Overall, it’s a respectable mid-grade 40V saw but wouldn’t be a good replacement for a gas-powered pole chainsaw.

Sun Joe 40V Lithium Ion 8-Inch Cordless Pole Chainsaw (iON8PS2): Product Review

Overall, this saw operates very much like its commercial grade, higher end, gasoline driven counterparts. The power to weight ratio is great, making the saw powerful but not too heavy (particularly if wearing the shoulder strap). It makes very clean cuts and the fit and finish suggest quality throughout. In my tests, the motor never lacked the power to cut through the thickest woods (up to the saw’s maximum cutting diameter), including incredibly hard deadwood. A single tool to tighten the front cover nut, chain tensioner screw, and telescoping cam lock is a real plus (one tool beats the heck out of many).

Husqvarna-Leaf-Blower-Mucher

Husqvarna Blower/Vacuum/Mulcher (125BVx): Product Review

This is a good blower and mulching vacuum – when you can get it started and if the engine stays running. There are some nice features, such as the curved blower tube and comfortable strap but, unfortunately, the cons outweigh the pros.

Greenworks 40V Li-Ion Blower

Greenworks 40V Lithium-Ion Axial Blower (2400802): Product Review

This is one of the best blowers we’ve tested to date. It has power, versatility, and quality. Be aware that if the cruise control lever is in the “on” position, the blower will automatically start when the battery is installed (that’s a potential safety issue). That aside, the Greenworks 40V Lithium-Ion Axial Blower (model 2400802) is definitely a recommended buy.

Troy-Bilt-blower

Troy-Bilt 40V Cordless Blower (TB4300): Product Review

Simply put, if you have the cash, want to go cordless, and want a superior quality product, buy the Troy-Bilt TB4300 Blower. It met all my expectations and then some. It’s a solid performer that can be stacked up against any gas, cordless, or corded blower in its class.

redback-40v-cordless-blower-model-e435c

Redback 40V Cordless Blower (106062): Product Review

Redback has produced a very good blower, with excellent quality and safety features, a helpful shoulder belt, 60+ minutes run time, and four blower speeds. It has an electronic control panel instead of a variable-speed trigger-style throttle, and will only run in turbo-speed mode for 30 seconds before dropping down to high speed – two features that some users may not like. Overall though, it’s a good choice for use in the typical suburban property.

Greenworks 24V Cordless String Trimmer 21342 Featured

Greenworks 12” 24V Cordless String Trimmer (21342): Product Review

This lightweight combo string trimmer / edger has good balance, handling and maneuverability, and it’s an excellent edger. But there is a major problem with the line and spool assembly that makes it practically unusable as a string trimmer. If Greenworks can fix the problem, this would be an excellent all-round trimmer/edger but, as it is, we cannot recommend it.

SunJoe Cordless Lawn Mower (16LM): Product Review

This lightweight, non-mulching 40V Li-ion mower is easy to handle, highly adjustable and makes a clean cut. The battery has decent run time and there are some nice safety features. However, the grass catcher is small and doesn’t fit easily onto the mower.
