Melnor RainCloud Smart Water Timer: Product Review

This 4-valve, smart water timer is controlled from the comfort of your home – or anywhere with internet access. Using the free app or desktop program, you can set and change watering programs for each zone independently and at any time. The control box is hard wired to your modem and the valve unit screws onto your outdoor faucet. It’s easy to use, simple to set up, and works like a charm. However, since it works over your Wi-Fi system, it will only work if the valve unit (attached to your faucet) is within Wi-Fi reach.

Irrigatia Solar Automatic Watering System (SOL-C24): Product Review

The Irrigatia SOL-C24 is a drip irrigation system that uses solar energy to power a small pump that allows you to irrigate with water directly from your rain barrel – no hookup to a faucet or electrical outlet required! The system is ideal for smaller gardens and patios, and installation is simple and quick. The controller waters only when it’s sunny (so no overwatering on rainy days) and can take care of plants while you’re on vacation.

Black & Decker Snake Wand™ Watering Nozzle: Product Review

The Snake Wand™ is a 36-inch watering wand with a flexible head and 9 spray patterns. It definitely makes watering jobs easier in hard to reach places. However, we had a quality issue with it (the pin holding the trigger in place fell out so the nozzle couldn’t be used – the company quickly replaced it under the 5-year warranty) and it’s difficult to control water flow (water comes out under high pressure). Overall, while I wouldn’t replace my regular gardening nozzle with the Snake Wand™, I’d happily use it as a tool for other jobs where a regular nozzle falls short, such as washing the car or blasting off the driveway. Rating: 3 out of 5.
