3 Comments on ARS General Purpose Hand Pruner (HP-130DX): Product Review

  1. Ross

ARS products are pretty new to me but recently purchased the 130DX. I do agree with you that the 130DX is a great light pruner. The design is elegant and quality first rate. The blades and head of the pruner are thinner than for example a Felco 2. Much easier to reach into a shrub to open it up. If what I’m cutting is over a 1/2″, I use loppers or a folding saw. This has become my favorite pruner for everything but fence row clearing.

Just to let you know, I went to your link on Amazon to order this pruner. The picture shows the hole for the wire safety loop, but not the finger safety. I bought it. It arrived with the safety loop. I just sent it back. I checked further on Amazon and they don’t have any others. Also checked the web. They all have the safety loop on the handle. If there is another source for the right ones, I would appreciate knowing about it. This was for my wife. I also bought the ARS 8VXR for myself. It is an amazing tool.
