A.M. Leonard Tri-Edge Folding Saw (A700): Product Review

If you’re looking for a pruning saw with the convenience of foldability, check out the A.M. Leonard Tri-Edge Folding Saw. Offering many convenient features, like tight tolerances, adjustable tension, and a comfortable handle for a good grip, the saw performs decently. However, with super sharp teeth, the saw surprisingly lacks super-fast cutting speed. Additionally, the lack of coverage of the blade when closed promotes an “accident waiting to happen” feel. A decent saw that will Continue Reading

A.M. Leonard Ergonomic Bypass Pruner (#1234): Product Review

If you’re in the market for a quality bypass hand pruner at a competitive price, then the A.M. Leonard Ergonomic Bypass Pruner (model #1234) is a definite contender. You’re not going to get the highest quality or features of the most expensive competitors, but what you will get is a pruner that if taken care of properly will likely last a lifetime. It makes excellent pruning cuts, is very comfortable to hold, and reaches into Continue Reading

A.M. Leonard Four Wheel Hose Cart with Flat Free Tires (Model # FHW300): Product Review

I would recommend this hose cart for anyone who needs to move garden hoses around a larger yard. It truly is a fantastic piece of gear. It’s sturdy, stable, highly maneuverable and simple to use. And, even when fully loaded with a long, premium garden hose (it’ll hold 300 feet!), it’s still easy to push around on the flat free tires. Plus, there’s a handy basket to carry hose nozzles and small gardening tools. Continue Reading

A.M. Leonard Classic Soil Knife: Product Review

The Classic Soil Knife from A.M. Leonard is a quality tool with some nice improvements over the traditional hori hori. The contoured handle is easy to grip and keeps your hand firmly in place while using the knife. Plus, the bright orange color makes it easily visible. However, I’d upgrade to the Deluxe Soil Knife to take advantage of the better serrated edge and depth markings (they come in handy for planting small bulbs and Continue Reading

A.M. Leonard GardenGlide Transportation Tote: Product Review

The A.M. Leonard GardenGlide is a nifty and unique item with almost limitless uses for transporting garden items. I was impressed with the loads it could handle, the ease at which it slid across a wide range of surfaces, and the abuse it withstood when pushing it to extremes. The one improvement I’d recommend is to make the handle sturdier – it was uncomfortable pulling heavy loads with a bent handle. Bottom line, I liked Continue Reading

A.M. Leonard ART17 Double Cut Pruner: Product Review

This is a quality pruner that doesn't skimp on materials and workmanship. It's sturdy, comfortable and makes clean cuts in woody stems and branches. The few very minor drawbacks are a handle locking mechanism that could get in the way of the two handles closing, the fact that it only cuts through ¾ inch wood (rather than the 1 inch diameter claimed) and that it’s intended for woody stems only. Continue Reading
